Shepherds Lodge is situated at the border of Namibia and South Africa within the oldest desert in the world, the Namib desert. We are just the proverbial stone throw away from the Orange river mouth into the Atlantic ocean, therefore the name of Oranjemund meaning the mouth of the Oranje in German.

The Lodge is located next to a RAMSAR protected area giving many opportunities for bird watching.

With a river and a clean beach, it is also an anglerís dream as it is possible to catch from both.

Shepherds Lodge started off as a break away spot for the management of the diamond mine(then CDM).Later it was handed to the boys & girls scouts for training and fun days. From thereon it changed hands from a couple of private entrepreneurs who started building chalets until today where it is a fully licensed & registered accommodation establishment with new and old rooms, bar, restaurant with a full A-La-Carte menu, and a camping site.

It does not matter if you come for business or pleasure, you will enjoy your stay with friendly and always helpful staff and the owners are living on site, so help is always available when needed.

Free Internet access.

Golf club +- 4 Km
